Church texts from (256) 646-3805

Last updated: September 2026

Cross Creek Community Church sends a small number of texts (Cross Creek Community Church Texts) from the church number (256) 646-3805. We only text people who sign up in one of the two ways below. We never buy lists or get numbers from anyone else.

Who gets texts

Way 1: Paper sign-up card

  1. At a Sunday or Wednesday service, a visitor (or a deacon joining the lockup rotation) is offered the printed Connect Card & Text Sign-Up card.
  2. The person writes their name and mobile number.
  3. Next to the text consent box, the card prints the full consent wording (below). The box is unchecked. The person checks it only if they want texts, then signs and dates the card.
  4. The person hands the card to a deacon or leaves it at the Connect table.
  5. A deacon or church administrator writes their initials and the date in the "For church use" box and marks whether the consent box was checked.
  6. Only if the box is checked, the deacon enters the name and number in the church's Deacon tools. The first text the person receives confirms the sign-up and explains how to stop (see sample messages below).
  7. Deacons keep the signed card on file at the church for at least 4 years as the record of consent.

Exact consent wording printed next to the unchecked box:

The card also says: "Texts come from the church number (256) 646-3805. Leaving the box unchecked is fine; we will not text you. Prefer to sign up by text? Text JOIN to (256) 646-3805 (same program and terms as above)."

Way 2: Text JOIN to (256) 646-3805

  1. The keyword is advertised on the sign-up card, in the church bulletin, and on a sign in the church lobby. Each one prints the full disclosure below.
  2. The person texts JOIN to (256) 646-3805.
  3. They immediately get this confirmation reply:

How we keep sign-up records

Deacons keep signed cards on file at the church for at least 4 years. JOIN sign-ups are recorded with the phone number and the date and time of the JOIN text. The Deacon tools record each person's name (if known), number, how they signed up, and the date, and only approved church leaders can sign in. When someone replies STOP, they are removed and are not texted again unless they reply START or JOIN, or sign a new card. We never sell or share mobile numbers or sign-up records; see our Privacy Policy.
